WORLD 4017 Flatiron Dress
This collection was created with 23 Skidoo, the Flatiron Building 1960 American tall tale, in mind along with inspiration from the era’s colloquial slang and iconic mementos.
The Flatiron Building is a triangular 22-story steel-framed landmarked building located at 175 Fifth Avenue in the borough of Manhattan, New York City. The building sits on a triangular block, the name “Flatiron” derives from its resemblance to a cast-iron. Fun Fact: The Ladies Mile of shops used to end a block away at Madison, leaving plenty of opportunities for a glimpse of female undergarments in the winds generated around the Flatiron. There was even a movie made about this phenomenon, The Flatiron Building on a Windy Day.
The WORLD Flatiron Dress is a kaftan styled V-neck dress in a heavy loose weave knit that details navy contrast binding. This style elongates your body making you appear as tall as the Flatiron itself!
