Santa Maria Novella’s Lavanda Imperiale is a bouquet of fresh green citrus notes and is predominantly lavender. Lavender grows throughout the Mediterranean, favoring sunny, stony areas. The origins of the word lavender come from Latin, lavanda, lavender has been used since ancient times to freshen linens, and it used to be spread on floors and walked upon, scenting the rooms. In flower symbolism lavender stands for distrust. Launched 1937.
