The Pattern Project Tote Bag
Designed by artist Sara Hughes

This bag celebrates children’s creativity and the school's culture. All funds go directly to support the wonderful Garden to Table programme at Owairaka Primary School where Year 3-6 tamariki learn to grow vegetables and cook healthy food.

"The Pattern Project was an art project that I worked on with all the students at Owairaka Primary School over two terms in 2021. It was an involved project where I consulted closely with school community and worked with the 500 children and staff at the school.

As an artist I have a strong interest in public art and changing spaces. I wanted to give back to Owairaka Primary School, a school both my sons have been too. I also wanted to revitalise the entrance to school and the junior court.
The bag comes out of this project and celebrates children's creativity."
